Provide Support to Aging Adults
SPTI is proud to offer suicide prevention training for aging adults and their caregivers.
The LivingWorks ASIST™ Workshop helps to reduce surface and underlying risk factors which may include:
- Ability to identify those at risk of suicide provides an opportunity to reduce risk factors
- Aging adults contemplating suicide more than likely do not want to die, but are looking for a way to end pain and suffering
- Aging adults contemplating suicide are often more isolated, more likely to have a plan, and more determined than younger adults
Aging Adults Need Our Help Too
- Suicide rates among females aged 65-74 were significantly higher in 2017 compared with 1999 (6.2 and 4.1 per 100,000)
- Suicide rates among males aged 65-74 were significantly higher in 2017 compared with 1999 (26.2 and 24.7 per 100,000)
We are honored to help our aging adults, seniors, and the people who support them.
